Peak Design, has launched the Peak Design Outdoor Line, a new range of bags designed for outdoor enthusiasts and adventure photographers. Known for its commitment to high-quality, functional gear, Peak Design has taken a fresh approach to address common issues found in outdoor bags, such as poor fit, bulkiness, and limited accessibility. The new Outdoor Line offers a variety of options tailored to different needs, enhancing both comfort and practicality for users.
The Outdoor Line features two backpacks, two slings, and a versatile ecosystem of Packing Tools aimed at improving organization and accessibility for photographers and outdoor adventurers. The Outdoor Backpack is available in 45L and 25L sizes, designed with a unique harness system that incorporates low-profile, adjustable shoulder and waist straps for a comfortable fit with less bulk. These shoulder straps, inspired by running vests, distribute weight evenly and include dual camera-carry attachment points, making them particularly suitable for photographers who need to carry their equipment securely and comfortably.
Accessibility is a key feature of the Outdoor Backpack, which includes two different access points: the Ultra Cinch™ quick-opening top hatch and a large rear access panel, providing easy packing and total visibility of the bag’s contents. The bag also offers extensive external storage options with its Cord Hook™ carry system and a series of stretchy Flex Pockets™ designed to hold water bottles, tripods, jackets, and other essentials.
In addition to the backpacks, the Outdoor Line includes the Peak Design Outdoor Sling, available in 7L and 2L sizes. These slings feature a padded, removable strap with a custom clasp and quick-adjustment hardware, allowing the bag to easily convert from a cross-body bag to a waist bag. The 7L model is designed with external carry Gear Loops and can be paired with a Peak Design X-Small Camera Cube to function as a compact camera bag. Both sling sizes can be attached to the shoulder straps of the Outdoor Backpacks, providing convenient chest-mounted storage for quick access to gear on the move.
The new bags are compatible with Peak Design’s Camera Cubes and Ultralight Packing Cubes, enabling users to customize their gear setup. The Camera Cubes, available in five sizes, can accommodate a range of photography equipment, from compact mirrorless cameras to full professional kits. All bags in the Outdoor Line are crafted from PFAS-free, 100% recycled weatherproof Terra Shell™ fabric, featuring Peak Design’s proprietary abrasion-resistant Ultra Zips™ and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) cording for enhanced durability and slash resistance.
Peter Dering, Founder and CEO of Peak Design, commented on the launch:
“The Outdoor Line is not only the culmination of everything we’ve learned as bag designers, it’s also a giant nod to our most loyal and longest-tenured customers.”
With the launch of the Outdoor Line, Peak Design continues to push the boundaries of innovation in the outdoor and photography gear market, providing versatile, high-quality solutions that cater to the needs of outdoor enthusiasts and professional photographers alike.
